Interesting part of this being at the end after I'd finished up with the institute as I went to left the small child you first meet called Shaun calls me father and asks me to take him with me. So I started doing the BoS line but somehow managed to end up doing the Minutemen ending. I was originally going to go with the Institute, then I decided against it because of their FEV experiments. Is he REALLY your son though, or is that just a big conspiracy that everyone at the institute is telling you so convince you to get on their side? I did however shoot my son in the head as soon as i met him. Still not done with the game though I know all of the story lines. Unfortunately my build focuses 100% around it, as it does way more damage than the minigun, and minigun ammo is too sparse to use it as your main weapon. Well, after I get to the Prydwen to get my laser gat that is.

I'm doing another play through, this time focusing on Minute Men exclusively. I went with BoS and I regretted it, mainly because Elder Maxson is a jerk. I would have preferred to join it, get what I can out of it, realize that although some of it's goals seem admirable, it's methods are not, and then convince Haylen to leave with me. And Scribe Haylen! I was kind of mad that you couldn't convince her to leave the brotherhood with you. I also liked Danse, even though he was a bit of a jerk when you first meet him, the "surprise" that you find out is a really cool twist that I didn't see coming. Much of it could have been a great benefit to mankind.īoS was the "cool" faction for me - power armor, laser gats, miniguns, vertibirds. However, I can't believe that no one wanted to salvage the tech there, or their research! I mean there was some awesome stuff that they accomplished there. Reminded me of how they "reconstruct" Lelu in The Fifth Element. On the one hand, some of what the Institute was doing was definitely morally wrong, and those gen 3 synths are definitely just machine constructed humans. I felt like there wasn't really a good all around solution for the synths and the Institute. See, I felt like railroad went to a bit of an extreme, and in some cases made things worse. The other two were way to cruel to leave standing. I went with the railroad, but kept the minute men happy.
